This family home has been designed by Mathew Morse Architect Pty Ltd and built by Stephen Malone. It takes advantage of sweeping rural views whilst creating spaces that are homely and easily lived in for a young family.
The site is quite exposed to Warrnambool’s predominant south-westerly weather, therefore, the design has responded to allow an all year round liveable building with sheltered indoor/outdoor spaces whilst maximising the aspect to the south.
External materials are low maintenance and include limestone, colourbond steel and hardwood. The combination of light and dark tones create depth and connection to the landscape, highlighted by floor level changes, cranking angles and blade walls.
Natural light is obtained throughout the house and boasts large double glazing within its northern elevation which also provides viewing from the northern courtyard through the living area to the south.
