34A & B Gladstone Street
Clinton Krause Architect designed, built and owned 34A and B Gladstone Street as two semi-detached single storey units on a former industrial shed site. The development optimises the site constrains, being a less than 400m2 lot size.
The dwellings have flexible floor plans through use of large cavity sliding panels which provides for a changing demographic which includes the mobility limited, retirees, couples and the home business.
The flexible floor plan also provides for adjustable heating zones, privacy areas and optimises its courtyards, light wells and outdoor living on less than 200m2 per unit. Building technologies include double glazing, solar/gas hot water, gas hydronic heating and low maintenance claddings which ensure energy efficiency, solar responsiveness and minimal lifecycle costing.
