The search is on for Warrnambool’s most outstanding citizens.
Nominations for the Warrnambool Citizen of the Year Awards are now open.
Categories include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16-30), Community Event of the Year and Local Achiever.
Warrnambool Mayor Cr Debbie Arnott said that it was the efforts of the municipality’s many selfless citizens that helped to create a vibrant, caring community.
“I’ve always thought that Warrnambool was a great place to live, but it wasn’t until I become a Councillor that I really learned just how many people there are out there, doing the most amazing things to make Warrnambool what it is today,” she said.
“The Citizen of the Year Awards are about recognising these people.
“The people who have been quietly working away, putting the needs of others first and helping to build the type of community that we all enjoy living in.
“But the only way that these people can receive the recognition the rightly deserve is if someone who knows how special they are takes a few minutes and submits a nomination.”
The Warrnambool Citizen of the Year Awards will be presented in 2023.
Nominations close on Wednesday November 23.
