Warrnambool | A City for Living

The Council Plan and Budget - have your say

Consultation Closing: Sunday, February 16, 2025 - 5:00 pm
What we are consulting you about

Council is preparing a four-year Council Plan and accompanying Budget.

The Council Plan is the key strategic document that guides Council's direction and, ultimately, its actions.

The Budget describes the way in which resources will be allocated in order to deliver the objectives contained in the Council Plan.

The Council Plan is developed in consultation with the community - we want to hear your ideas and thoughts about Warrnambool's future.

Suggestions from the community will help inform the Council Plan - and the Budget.

Council's initial thoughts are that the Council Plan should have five over-arching objectives.

These are:

1. City Futures - planning and economic development that maintains liveability within a thriving economy.

2. City Infrastructure - a focus on renewal and maintenance while adding new buildings and infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing city.

3. City Sustainability - energy efficiency, a circular economy, embracing new technology and caring for the natural environment.

4. City Wellbeing - a safe, inclusive community with support through all life stages. Our recreational and cultural services will provide opportunities for participation and wellbeing.

5. City Leadership - advocacy, efficiency, sound governance and a defined strategic direction
