What we are consulting you about

Traffic management plans aim to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians.

East Warrnambool was identified as needing a road safety plan as a result of residential growth and development along Hopkins Point Road and around Lyndoch which has significantly increased traffic movement from East Warrnambool and surrounds into the CBD and to other areas of the city.

The increased traffic volumes have created  several troublesome intersections, identified through residential feedback, peak traffic assessments and structure and development plans for the development area to the east of the Hopkins River.

Council was successfully applied for TAC funding to develop the East Warrnambool Local Area Traffic Management Plan (LATM).

The East Warrnambool LATM has identified the junctions of Nicholson-Flaxman, Otway-Hopkins, Hopkins-Marfell and Simpson-Verdon as requiring improvement to accommodate growth.
