This survey asks how you would like Council to manage our community’s physical assets.
These assets can include buildings, roads, drains, parks, vehicles, and equipment - all of which are used to provide services and support to the community.
Our asset inventory has a replacement value of more than $1 billion.
Councils across Australia are faced with the challenge of how to address an asset renewal gap. This gap is the difference between money Council has allocated to maintain assets and the amount Council needs to spend on asset renewal in order to maintain current levels of service.
Over the next decade it is anticipated that Council will need to spend about $115 million to renew infrastructure assets to maintain service levels. It will be very difficult for Council to maintain and/or renew all of its assets.
The survey below is to help identify community priorities when it comes to our assets and where we should invest
Each of the following questions are designed to understand your preferred approach to our assets, when answering think about things like cost, proximity, equity and sustainability.
